The Warriors Come Out to Play at TotalCon 2026

Number one fan of Mean Streets rules Cat O' Mighty ran her game which is a tribute to the movie, The Warriors. She has lovingly modified figures to represent most of the gangs from the 1979 cult classic and inspiration of these rules. At TotalCon 2026, she put on two games of Mean Streets action, as the namesake gang tries to make its way through hostile territory in New York City. Read her report in a post on the Lead Adventure Forum.

Downtown at Origins 2024, the Streets were Mean!

Rules author Mike Demana took his gang warfare miniatures game to Origins Game Fair in June of 2024. Mike ran a number of games with players who ranged from brand new to skirmish miniatures to experienced wargamers. Lots of hilarity ensued as one of his gangs, the Eastmoor Kings, mimicked the plot of the movie "The Warriors" trying to just get home! Read the game report and see more  Lead Legionaries blog.

'The Warriors' Rumble at Havoc 2025 Convention

Since the movie "The Warriors" inspired this set of miniatures rules, it is fitting we show you a wargamer who has recreated the iconic gangs of the 1979 movie in 28mm miniatures. Cat took the game to her local convention and the players had a blast! Her New York City street board is just as amazing as her meticulously recreated gangs from the movie. This is one of her posts on the Lead Adventure Forum. Cat shares an after-action report on the game and lots of photos. The picture of the players all flashing their made up gang signs is a hoot. Read this thread on Lead Adventure Forum and enjoy lots of Mean Streets goodness!

Eastmoor Kings Try to Defend Their Turf at
Drums at the Rapids 2024

The plot of the 1979 movie, "The Warriors" (inspiration for these rules), sees the street gang trying to fight their way through a New York City where every other street gang is out to get them. That was the premise for this game run at Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, OH. Check out the game report here on Lead Legionaries blog.

The Warriors (or Eastmoor Kings) Come Out to Play
at Cincycon!

Rules author Mike Demana celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 1979 movie, "The Warriors" by running a series of games mimicking the action of New York City street gangs. The first test of the scenario, which saw one of his street gangs called the Eastmoor Kings take on the role of the Warriors was at Cincycon in 2024. Check out the game report here on Lead Legionaries blog.

Rambling on the Mean Streets of Columbus at Origins!

Colorful street gangs invaded the streets of Columbus, OH, in this series of games held at Origins Game Fair. The Indianola Mohawks, Franklinton Flippos, the Santanas, and more rumbled and spilled blood on the pavement. Each had its own mission it was trying to complete, in addition to getting "payback" on a gang that gave them a beat-down last weekend! Check out the game report here on Lead Legionaries blog.

Gang Rumble in the Short North at a New Game Day

A brand new game day in Columbus, OH, was the occasion for Mike Demana to run another game of Mean Streets: War in Gang-infested Cities. Six street gangs vied for dominance not far from where the game was hypothetically taking place. Players had a great time settling old grudges against rival gangs and stealing cars, beers, and more! Read the game report and see lots of cool pictures of 28mm miniature street gangs in action on the Lead Legionaries blog.

A Wargamer Recreates the Gangs & Buildings from
'The Warriors'

Give yourself some time and read through this amazing thread on the Lead Adventure Forum. A very talented East Coast U.S. wargamer named Cat brings the major and minor gangs from the 1979 movie to life. She talks about setting up her first games using Mean Streets rules and taking it to local conventions to rousing success. Read the thread on Lead Adventure Forum.

Gang Rumble in Downtown Lancaster, PA

America's largest historical miniature gaming convention was the setting for some furious street battles using Mean Streets rules. The clown-masked Franklinton Flippos gang were a big hit with the attendees. Players tapped into their inner dark side and besides rumbling, shook down market stall owners for protection money, stole cars, and tried to fight off the police when they showed up to put an end to their mayhem. Read the game report on Lead Legionaries blog and see lots more photos!

Mean Streets Game

If you click on the links on this game report, you'll be taken to a Google Slides link. Click on "Slideshow" to get the full screen comic book style battle report. So far, it has been a one-off experiment with Mean Streets game reports. In this different kind of game, I move Mean Streets into the world of masked vigilantes. In other words, superheros! Check it out and see if this type of setting would appear to you!

For a more standard game report, click on the Lead Legionaries blog post about the game. There I discuss the game and what inspired it, along with standard photos and description of what happened. Will this be Mean Streets' first expansion? Who knows??
